About Us

TRUST YOUR EYE HEALTH TO BEDFORD EYE CARE

The eyes are the second most complex organ in your body after the brain. These organs are made up of more than two million working parts designed to help us see the world around us—and all of the vibrant colors, incredible vistas, and rich details found within it. This makes our eyes one of the most precious parts of our bodies, which means it is vital to do what you can to keep them in healthy, working order.

Our clinic’s professional eye care team understands that keeping your eyes healthy and your vision clear is the most important job we can do for you. It is why we are dedicated to exceeding your expectations every time you come and visit us.

Eye Examinations

Here at Bedford Eye Care our doctors take pride in providing a thorough eye examination with the very latest in ocular instrumentation. When you choose to entrust your eye care to us our doctors and their clinical team will perform a comprehensive, careful eye exam to form an overall clinical picture and develop a treatment plan to address all of your visual and eye health needs.

Contact Lenses and Specialty Lenses

Contact lenses have come a long way and there are many comfortable and safe options available. Our doctors work alongside our highly skilled contact lens fitter and will help you find a lens to meet your needs even if you have a high astigmatism or need bifocals. More specialized options are also available, such as miniscleral lenses.

Dry Eye Disease

Bedford Eye Care has opened the first Dry Eye Clinic offering Lipiflow technology. We can now treat the root cause of dry eye, relieving the burning, stinging and watering and preventing further atrophy of tear-producing glands.

Concussions & Traumatic Brain Injury

Bedford Eye Care is the first clinic in Nova Scotia to offer diagnostic and treatment services to patients who have had a concussion. If you suffer from balance issues, inability to concentrate, sensitivity to a busy or bright environment and eye fatigue after a concussion, you might have Post Traumatic Vision Syndrome. This syndrome is treatable with a combination of specialized eyeglasses and physiotherapy.

Laser Vision Co-Management

Many people are considering refractive laser surgery. If you’re interested, please ask our doctors for their professional opinion. Our doctors can perform all your pre-operative and post-operative refractive surgery examinations.

Eyewear Gallery

Browse through our Eyewear Gallery where you’ll find a gorgeous collection of carefully curated frames, including some brands that are exclusive to Bedford Eye Care and cannot be found elsewhere in the Halifax area. Our talented opticians will determine your unique visual needs, customizing your selection and providing you with eyewear to maximize your visual experience stylishly and affordably. We pride ourselves in having something to fit every budget – from designer frames, to sunglasses, safety frames, sports glasses and even prescription swimming goggles.
